About
savvy Strategy is a boutique digital marketing agency that uses social objects-the tools we all use daily to communicate and interact — to market products, promote brand loyalty, and deliver ROI.
We are industry trailblazers dedicated to finding creative ways for clients to develop a clear plan to reach consumers wherever they may be interacting. Using our unique methodology, experience, and skills, we help clients communicate their brand essence, initiatives, and value proposition the brand brings to customers.
We started building communities 10 years ago . . . before social networking was even coined as a phrase. With a proven track record of being ahead of the curve, the savvy Strategy team uses a mix of traditional and cutting-edge marketing practices to customize solutions based on the client’s business goals and challenges.
THE TEAM
Marketing Maven
Sheryl Victor Levy has spent the past 15 years on the client and agency sides of the business. Prior to Savvy, Sheryl led world-wide brand development of products and services at Hearst Magazines for: Cosmopolitan, Cosmogirl!, Country Living, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, House Beautiful and Seventeen. Prior to Hearst, Sheryl was VP, Marketing Director for BaseSix, a boutique interactive firm based in Boston where she was responsible for spearheading the entertainment-side of the business managing such clients as HBO and Showtime.
Sheryl has also led Account Management at The Sloan Group for Ticketmaster and Nickelodeon and spent the first 8 years of her career in marketing and brand development at MTV, VH1 and USA Networks. Sheryl is a graduate of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College.
From time to time, Sheryl will blog on social or cultural things she has an opinion on. That’s because she is passionate. This site is not for the meek. It’s for the bold and the brave. A former MTV colleague described Sheryl’s writing style as “It’s as if you speak or think with a snap and a slap”. That’s who she is. Quick, witty and direct.
Sheryl is married living with her husband in Brooklyn, NY. Sheryl is a frequent industry speaker and was also recently accepted into the Step Up Women’s Network Mentoring program.
Creative Maestro
J. Matthew Riva serves as Creative Maestro for savvy Strategy. A third generation artist in a family of performers (Marlene Dietrich and Maria Riva) and visual artists (William Riva, J. Michael Riva), Matthew is a painter, lyricist, and sculptor who trained formally and as an apprentice. He has been exposed to many cultures through extensive travels throughout the Americas, Europe, and East Africa. He was a volunteer during The Voyager Program and its first ever circumnavigation of the Globe, and volunteered at the U.N Assembly for the first live transmission from the Mir space station on Earth Day.
